about
Ch. 3: A little down your path you fall into a rut. Looking around as you dust the dirt off you, you realize the rut... is a footprint... A huge footprint, enough for both a horse and its carriage to sit comfortably in. You begin to imagine what frighteningly tremendous creature it may belong to. These thoughts scare you so instead you imagine what glories await you at the end of this path. This comforts you enough to keep going.
lyrics
Flipping your hair so they can’t see your roots
your roots that entice me so tighten your boots
squash me so gently I can’t feel the pain
Tomorrow I’ll wake up and things are the same.
I’m a cog in the engine of a car thats been stuck
its safe to assume that I’m stuck in a rut.
work is securing the knots in my back
with its weight, family’s waiting for me to call back
Stick to your devices and your powdered fairy tale,
the power that it gives you to pout and walk away
In fact Im overbearing maybe everything’s my fault
But Ill never know for sure the answers locked inside your vault
Its not that I’m obsessed, My life is occupied.
Its just easier to think of you.
Start to back away because I’m pushing you too hard
You never asked to be treated like delicate art.
But it seems to me like the seams of your clothes weren’t the only thing you were trying to expose.
Perhaps that’s my daydreaming that flickers on and off
while I smoke a cigarette and pretend not to cough
Hours last forever when all you see is Beige
others have it worse than me but I haven’t read their page
Its not that I’m obsessed, My life is occupied.
Its just easier to think of you.
